The game modes

Seven ways to run a great room.

Connect is built around short, host-driven modes that turn an event into something people remember. Pick the one that fits the room, set the timer, hand out the QR.

Connections

Classic networking — find as many new humans as you can before the timer.

  1. 01Players see a live roster of everyone in the room on their phone.
  2. 02Walk up to someone you don't know, talk for a minute or two, then tap their tile.
  3. 03If they tap your tile too, the connection logs and you both score.
Who wins
Most mutual connections at the end of the round.
Best for
Cold rooms where most people don't know each other yet.

Two Truths & a Lie

Two truths and a lie — guess your partner's lie to lock the connection.

  1. 01At sign-in each player enters two true statements about themselves plus one believable lie.
  2. 02Walk up to someone new, hear their three statements, and guess which one is the lie.
  3. 03Guess right and the connection locks for you both — it's self-paced, so the hustlers who work the room fastest pull ahead.
Who wins
Most locked connections at the end of the round (a connection locks on a correct guess).
Best for
Warm rooms — teams, alumni groups, anyone who's met before but doesn't know each other well.

Match Maker

Intentional matchmaking in timed rounds — one focused connection per round.

  1. 01At sign-in everyone answers a few questions (including their industry) and adds a photo.
  2. 02The show runs in timed rounds; each round has its own mission prompt and conversation starter.
  3. 03Find one person per round and log the connection — each one fills a circle on the big screen.
  4. 04Complete the rounds to qualify; the host crowns a single winner, multiple, or draws a prize raffle.
Who wins
Operator's choice per event: top finisher(s) by connections, or a prize raffle (all-rounds or everyone).
Best for
Hosted networking events that want structure, momentum, and real follow-ups.

Skill Swap Bingo

Offers meet needs. Trade what you can do for what you need.

  1. 01At sign-in everyone lists 3 skills they offer + 3 they need.
  2. 02Stage shows a live board of offers and needs.
  3. 03Find someone whose offer matches your need (or vice versa) and book a follow-up.
Who wins
Most matched offer↔need pairs that result in a follow-up.
Best for
Founder/operator rooms where everyone has expertise to trade.

Mutual Maps

A live constellation of who connected with whom — bonus points for shortest paths.

  1. 01Each tap-to-connect draws a line on a big-screen graph.
  2. 02Host calls out a target pair; whoever introduces them through the fewest hops wins the bonus.
  3. 03Centrality (being in the middle of the graph) compounds your score.
Who wins
Highest network-centrality + bonus shortest-path wins.
Best for
Industry mixers with a lot of weak ties to discover.

Story Trade

Swap your best story for someone else's.

  1. 01Players line up and pair off in 90-second slots.
  2. 02Each tells one work / life story; the other rates it 1–5.
  3. 03Best-rated stories get narrated on stage by the host at the end.
Who wins
Highest average story rating across at least 4 trades.
Best for
Founders / sales rooms that love a campfire vibe.

Six Degrees Hunt

Host picks two strangers; first chain to introduce them wins.

  1. 01Host announces 'Get [Alice] to [Bob] in under 6 hops.'
  2. 02Teams build chains by introducing person-to-person on their phones.
  3. 03Shortest valid chain (each link is a mutual tap) takes the round.
Who wins
Whoever closes the chain first — and the people on the chain.
Best for
Conferences where guests come from very different networks.

Intro Chains

Score for being introduced AND for introducing others — compounds fast.

  1. 01Every intro you make is logged as a 'credit'.
  2. 02Every intro you receive is a multiplier on your existing credits.
  3. 03The chain grows the more you give before the timer runs out.
Who wins
Highest credits × multiplier at the buzzer.
Best for
Sales kickoffs and rooms with natural connectors.

Photo Bomb

Selfie at the door. Story + selfie + AI fact-quiz each round.

  1. 01Sign-in: snap a selfie. We use it to match you with someone new each round.
  2. 02Round: you and your match each tell a 30-second personal story.
  3. 03Take one photo together — it goes up on the big screen for a few seconds.
  4. 04Phone shows you a 3-question quiz the AI built from what your partner just said.
  5. 05Answer fast and accurately to score; bonus points for funny photos.
Who wins
Most correct quiz answers across all rounds (ties broken by photo-bomb judges).
Best for
High-energy rooms where the goal is 'I actually remember this person tomorrow.'
Setup notes
Needs decent venue lighting + at least one big screen. Phones must allow camera access.
